DH happened to feel Abigail kicking when I was sleeping last night. I woke up to him poking me in my belly at the spots where she was kicking. She would kick and he would touch that spot and she would kick again. I very sleepily asked him to stop and he told me he was bonding with her. I was told I take for granted that she is right there with me all the time and it was very special for him to be able to feel her moving inside me. Sleeping is hard as it is right now, let alone having someone poke your belly. I didn't feel her kicking at all though. Just thought I'd share.
Re: Daddy/Daugther Bonding
Married the love of my life on 1-21-12. Our princess arrived on 5-28-13.
That is actually very sweet! I know that it probably was annoying, but it is cute!
Mark- You made me laugh! I can totally see that happening.
I already poke Joy and she's not even pregnant....
Awwww!!!!! So adorable. Sometimes DH would tell me that he could feel her and I couldn't but I didn't always want to burst his bubble. Most of the time she'd be moving and I'd put his hand on my belly to feel her and she would stop. I often joked that he had a calming effect on her.
But he probably does have a point. As the mom we get to carry the child and feel movement and bond for 9 months while the dad sees the mom getting bigger, but they don't have a direct connection yet.
